WHAT IS SUPPORTED LIVING?

WHAT IS SUPPORTED LIVING?

Supported living, a key component of Wesleycare’s services, is a personalised support system that allows people to preserve their independence in their own homes or shared accommodation.  This method is based on giving people autonomy and control over their life.

Wesleycare places a high priority on the individual requirements of each person we serve. Our services range from occasional assistance to extensive, round-the-clock care, and we cater to a wide range of demands.

Supported living is a type of support that allows people to live freely in their own homes or in shared accommodation.  It is all about giving individuals control over their own life. Our commitment to this model fully complies with the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) requirements established under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) regulation 2014. These requirements ensure that the personalised support we give fulfils fundamental quality, safety, and individual autonomy standards.

Individuals in supported living have the option of choosing between shared support and personalised care, allowing for:

  • Choice in housemates, control over access to their home, and support providers.
  • Security comes from having their own space and keys.
  • Independence with assistance for daily duties ranging from financial management to meal planning and preparation.

Our dedicated team works without a set on-site office, ensuring flexible and personalised care that respects individual preferences and fosters freedom. In light of our adherence to CQC requirements, our services prioritise quality care in accordance with recognised standards for supported living arrangements.
